basically ride your bike as much as you can, remembering to rest as much as you can also.
As you get older there are less good days, so you need to make the most of them.
One or two hard days a week is enough, the other days ride, but not too hard.
Take at least one day a week off  the bike.
When you feel like you have a basic fitness then do some speed and/or hill work and try to ride with a group.
