A Tandem Bicycle Is Built For Two, But Not Twice The Price

You and your partner want to cycle together, and you want a tandem bicycle. The first thing you need to make sure of is your partner; do you get on well enough? Will you both want to go to the same places? And will you want to go at the same speed? Once you've sorted all that out its time to look for a tandem.

Just like a normal bike, if you want to spend a lot of money on a new tandem you can get what you want, but not every one has that much disposable income.

So have a look around for a used tandem bicycle, in the local news papers, ask in your bike shop or you're your club-mates, or maybe on the net (e-bay).

There have been many people who have bought a tandem thinking it was a good idea to find that they are incompatible as riding partners, so they are available.

If you are going to buy a used Tandem bicycle be careful to inspect the frame for any cracks or damage, any other parts can be replaced, but the frame is the most important and the most expensive part.

Wheels are very important also, look for strong wheels, especially if the person on the back is big or if you are going to carry bags, but wheels can be replaced and they will wear out quicker anyway.

Tandems For Your Wedding

Tandem bicycle wedding allows a perfect match; man, woman and bicycle.
A man and a woman together, out in the country, breathing the fresh air and pedalling in unison, what could be better for a tandem bicycle wedding?

The wife can keep an eye on what the husband is up to on his long hours spent away most Sundays, she can understand why he is not with her on there days off work and now they have a tandem they are together for more time.

He also knows where she is now on a Saturday, not shopping, not off with the milkman or out with her friends telling them all his bad points and complaining about the amount of time he spends on that bike, she’s with him.

The troubles could begin on there tandem rides, he will want to be in charge and be at the front doing the steering, why?

She says. - Well, women can't drive, so why would they be able to steer a bike?, he says.

So the arguments start and there is no escape and her mouth is very close to his ears and remember it's a tandem so he can't ride off into the distance for some peace.

Maybe its not such a good idea a tandem could start a divorce instead of a perfect partnership!

If your relationship is not too strong, then a tandem will find any cracks that might turn into gaping chasms.
