Speedplay Cleats for Sidi Shoes

Allan Hardy has a pair of Sidi carbon shoes and wants to know which shoe plates (cleats) he will need for his Speedplay Zero titanium pedals that will fit the pedals and the shoes.

Question:
have just ordered some Sidi carbon Mega, need to know what cleats I need for them to match Speedplay Zero Tit with 0-15 degree float? Are Sidi 3 or four hole connections? Not sure.

Hi Allan.
Nice choice of shoes and pedals. The Sidi shoes have a three hole fitting, i.e. for Look shoe plates, but then Zero’s fit 3 or 4 hole fittings, so all is OK there.

With the Zero pedals you have rotational float that can be adjusted to the amount needed from fixed position to 15º movement. The other great thing about the Zero pedals is that all three adjustments can be set precisely and independently. They are adjustable forward and back, left and right and rotationally.

Of course Speedplay have the lowest stack height of any pedal system which gives you better power transfer through the pedals.

Ive been using Sidi shoes & speedplays for over 10 years. Love them. Only drawbacks: 1. at century say stops & off bike nature breaks stay out of soft soil or mud. the cleats clog & you have to use your water bottle to wash them out to re-engage. 2. If you put your foot down a lot for traffic signals etc. the metal plate & phillips screw heads wear down & have to be replaced. I’ve tried covering them with tape goo etc. but so far nothing has worked to protect them.
