Sidi Shoe Heels

Adjustable Sidi Heel Grip

Adjustable Heel Grip

Jeffrey has a pair of Sidi road shoes, but the heels have worn out with his walking. With newer Sidi shoes you can replace the heel; his don’t have that advantage as the heel part is glued on. We only have three suggestion, one expensive, one cheap and one very cheap.

New Sidi Heel

Hi Sam,

I wear 10 year old Sidi road shoes. There in great condition, except for the non removable red heel piece for walking. The heel piece has worn down from the little walking I do in the shoes. How do I repair the shoes?

Jeffrey.

Hi Jeffrey.

I know your problem well as I also have a pair of the older Sidi shoes with the built in heel piece and yes it has started to wear out, just like yours. So what can you do?

Old Sidi Heel

Old Sidi Heel

The expensive answer is to get a new pair of cycling shoes; the new carbon Sidi models are really stiff and very adjustable with straps, buckles and even an adjustable heel grip. Also the heel piece is replaceable with the use of a little screw.

The cheap answer is to find a small piece of rubber and glue it on to the heel of the shoe. Or you could put short, large headed nails in to the heel, but be careful that they don’t go through and into your foot. This should last a while and protect the soles of your cycling shoes.

The cheapest answer is just to forget about them and wait until they are completely worn out and fall to pieces, which should take around another 10 years. Then you can buy a new pair.

I hope this helps, maybe not?
