This is The Reason Why Odense is Becoming the Europe’s Most Liveable City

Odense is by population the third largest city of the Denmark. We all know that Danish like riding their bikes as much as Dutch do. I say Holland because it’s considered the bike capital of the world. Above Image Photograph: Thomas D Mørkeberg

“Amsterdam, a.k.a. the bike capital of the world, has 40% of all traffic movements by bicycle. They have created a bicycle friendly city that promotes a healthier, more active lifestyle for its residents.”

I have read at that Odense has become the most desirable place to live. And one of the reasons has been its new thinking model and the embedding cycling culture. It hasn’t been actually an overnight change. I took some time to build and transform a standard industrial city into an inclusive cycling place to live. In fact:

“Odense, is a city of just under 200,000 people, has almost 350 miles of bike lanes and 123 cyclist-only bridges.”

It’s worth grabbing your cup of coffee to read Peter Walker’s post entitled “Europe’s most liveable city? The secret of Odense’s post-industrial revolution“.
