How Good are the Wheels on My Pinarello F4-13?

Robert Paul Gould has a very nice Pinarello F4-13 and when he bought it, the bike came with Pinarello's own brand (MOst) wheels fitted. Paul's question is; how good are the wheels and should he spend some money on better or more expensive wheels. Unless you are racing then you have to decide if you can justify spending a load of money

Question:
I own a Pinarello F4-13 and would like to change the wheels. The bike currently has Pinarello's own brand MOst duel wheels. Does anyone know what standard of wheel these are and what is a reasonable comparable wheel that I can change to? For the riding that I do the existing wheels are more than adequate so I do not want to waste money on wheels that far exceed my needs.
Regards
Paul.

Hi Paul,

Nice, light wheels are a great thing to ride, but it gets to a point where you are wasting your money for a few grams of weight saved, unless you are lucky enough that someone else is paying or you can find a bargain.

Front MOst Wheel

Your Pinarello Most wheels are very good, they are maybe not the lightest, but are strong and they do the job. If you think you need lighter wheels then you have to see if you can afford them and then if you can then the decision on which to buy is impossible due to there being so many choices on the market.

My suggestion is that you wait until you need a new pair of wheels, either due to damage or that the ones you have wear out, this will eventually happen as the sides of the rims wear thin with braking and then you have a choice of either replacing the rims or the complete wheel set. Some times replacing the rims on branded wheels can be difficult as finding the original manufacturer isn't always easy, unless they are from Campagnolo, Shimano or Mavic and then they will be their own. For others you, or your bike shop, can find a similar rim to fit. You must be careful as with a lot of wheels these days they have strange spoke patterns, where as before the spoke holes where all the same distance apart and had 28, 32 or 36 spokes now they could be anything from 16 upwards and not always equidistant.

So if you can afford new, light wheels, get them, if not then wait until do need them. Your MOst wheels are OK, don't worry just ride your bike!
