George has got himself a very nice frame set, a Fondriest TF2, he wants to know if it has actually been made in Italy and if the Fondriest frames are any good. We have done some homework and a bit of memory searching and here are our findings

I just bought a Fondriest TF2 frame set. wondering, if it was indeed made in Italy, and your comments on these frames in general.

That is a very nice frame, where ever it has come from!
The first thing is that the Fondriest name was sold in 2006, so any frames made after that time could be from out of Italy. That said, nearly all carbon comes from the Far East, so the frame maybe manufactured in Italy, but the tubes are more than likely from Taiwan or China. All frames are in the same boat, the carbon will come from the Far East and the frame will be put together in the country of the manufacturer.
There are a lot of frames being made in Taiwan and China; most are very good as they know what they are doing with carbon. There are no more problems buying a Far East frame than from anywhere else. If you buy a frame that is from a reputable, well known company it will come with a guarantee, no matter where it has been made, it has their name on it and they have to look after their customers.
So, you have a very nice bike, ride it and enjoy it. Nice choice George!

The only Fondriest frame made in Italy is the TF1 Top Carbon.
I ride a Fondriest (04 Top Carbon), and would agree if it has Fondriest's name on it - it is good.
