Don is starting indoor spinning training and has been told to use the large gear up front and the 15 on the back. He needs to know what the 15 at the back is, to some this might be simple, but there are many riders out there who don't need to know, but Don does!
Question: I'm just starting to spin indoors on a trainer I bought. What does it mean to be on the large gear up front, & 15 on the back? (I don't get the 15 part?)
Hi Don,
The instructions for your training program are to use the large gear up front; this is referring to the large chain ring, the one on the outside, and the biggest of them.
Now the 15 at the back refers to the amount of teeth on the rear sprocket, or cog, it will probably be somewhere in the middle of the gear cassette, count the teeth on the sprockets until you find the one with 15 teeth and that's the one you want. Does that answer your question?
