Here's the order of comparison in the biking world;

SRAM Red = No competition
SRAM Force = Dura Ace 7900
SRAM Rival = Ultegra.

I have a SRAM Red group on my MOOTS, best decision I ever made. Lever set-up to hands, flawless shifting, double tap system is superior to Shimano, and no front or rear derailler adjustments yet with 1000 miles, unlike my former Shimano group.

I started with red on my madrone, but had trouble with down shifting. The upshifting worked well. I changed to Dura ACe 7900
and have had problems with upshifting. The brake levers were much more comfortable on the red than the Dura Ace. The up shifting on the 7900 is slower than on my nine speed Dura
Ace. The hidden cables donot shift as well for the front derailler in the 7900. When I upgrade my other bike I will use 7800 because the shifting is crisper.
