Ernesto Colnago started with a welding torch at 12 years old in 1944, he moved on to work for Gloria cycles in Milan and started to race. In 1951 he broke his leg finishing his race career and starts his own business, opening a cycle shop in 1954, since then probably more champions have ridden his bikes than any other frame maker.
Colnago frames are made from all different kinds of tubes, titanium, carbon, alloy and steel. The road bikes are beautifully finished with great detail to tidy welds and artistic paintwork.
All carbon frames are the top of the Colnago range; these are the pick of the bunch. Next down is a mix of alloy and carbon, with a carbon rear end with carbon forks. For a the discerning customer on a tight budget there are all alloy frames finished to the same high standard.
Colnago frames are easily available through out the world and must be one of the most dreamt about cycle frames on the market.
