Campagnolo bike components, funded in 1933

Tullio Campagnolo started the Campagnolo Company in 1933 in Vicenza after he was forced to withdraw from a race due to bad weather, that's when he invented the quick release mechanism for bicycle wheels. Then it was the rod gear change he patented in 1930 and Canpagnolo became the best known and most copied cycle components.

Tullio Campagnolo gave up his sporting career in 1940 to totally commit himself to his business and take on his first employee. In 1955 the first complete component group-set was presented and in the 60's the company expanded greatly.

For the road cyclist Campagnolo has been the leader and first choice for many champions. Campagnolo make the complete group set, wheels and also clothing and the famous corkscrew.

Top of the range is the record group set, 10 speed and Ergopower gear levers with carbon chainset and much innovative use of carbon on many other components makes it one of the most wanted group sets. Campagnolo also make cheaper group sets and track equipment.

There are now nine group-sets from Campagnolo:

  1. Xenon

  2. Mirage

  3. Veloce

  4. Centaur

  5. Chorus

  6. Record

  7. Record Pista

  8. Triathlon

  9. RE-CH-CE 9s
