It could be said that Bouygues Telecom are only in the Pro-Tour to make up the numbers. There best rider is only 35th in the UCI rankings, Jerome Pineau gained this place with out any big wins. Other stars are, ex-World champ, Laurent Brochard, who must be at the end of his career along with other “old man” Didier Rous.

The rest of the team are young, the best being Thomas Voeckler and Pierrick Fedrigo, the others will get a hard time in the big league and can only hope to come out of the season with the odd stage win or a win in some smaller French races.

Bouygues Telecom are Frances third largest mobile phone company, the team has an amateur feeder team, Vendee-U, which is the best in France. There are 26 riders with an average age of 26 and 96% of the riders are French. The team rides Time Frames and Campagnolo components.

I do not know how to email the team manager Jean-René Bernaudeau , but I want him to know that his stand against doping and his integrity does not go unnoticed! I am not a big fan of his team, but I am a huge fan of his ethics and his code. I am grateful to see him stand up and have a voice against the doping.
