BioLogic is a company with a passion for cycling that develops gear and products for bikers all over the world, including safety gear though most of it is oriented to iPhone use in cycling, like a recharger or an iPhone bike mount.

At the heart of the company is the free iPhone app BikeBrain which turns your iPhone into a cycling computer.

In case you missed it the first time I shall say it again: the BikeBrain app is free. Which is the main reason why you’ll use it because, and to be completely honest, there is no way this app could substitute a $300 bike computer since it offers less data which for a pro makes all the difference.

In any case, for its price this app is absolutely wonderful and there is no reason why someone who doesn’t own a cycling computer shouldn’t be using it.

It offers GPS tracking using Google maps, allowing you to know always where you’re heading and it allows you to keep track of your laps, speed, distance, altitude, interval, etc.

Equally important, it saves all this data and allows you to export it for a computer (though the exportation option requires an upgrade to BikeBrain Plus which costs $1.99) for further analysis and to share routes on Facebook and Twitter (also using Plus).

BioLogic also sells equipment that complements the BikeBrain App, like a battery recharger, the iPhone protective case and the bike mount.

Final thoughts: great free app. Don’t own a cycling computer but own an iPhone? Get it now.
