For MTB I would go for the Time Pedals every time I had two sets of SPD pedal and they were prone to not releasing when muddyand also the bearing did not last. I switched to Time Atack they release every time and the bearing last and last. I have recently replaced these with Time Z control these are a cross betweem a flat and the attack with the same robust mechanism but greater stability when uncliped and standing on the pedals on the rough stuff.

I personnaly have been using Speedplay clipless pedals for the last four years and could not be happier. The cornering clearance is excellent and you can adjust the cleat for your foot to naturally float on the pedal or you can make it a fixed position. I would not spend the extra money on the Titanium model, unless you are a serious racer. My opinion only, as I am headed out for a cold ride. Enjoy what ever you choose.

Many thanks for your prompt and informative reply to my query. I think I will opt for Look when I upgrade. Incidentally, I'm strictly a road rider these days.
