The Look 555 Frame
Lawrence Borda has a short and to the point question. He wants our opinion on the quality of the Look 555 frame, simple! It’s a beautiful looking frame and it’s a pleasure to give an opinion on a class piece of kit. Here is what we think
Question: What do you think of The look 555 as quality?

Nice choice, Look started by making ski equipment and then moved into clipless pedals for bikes. Look was probably the company who made the clipless system so popular and is, as you know, now making top class frames.
The Look 555 is made of oversized mixed high modulus carbon fiber, which is high resistance, strong and stiff. The frame weighs in at 1100 grms; add that to the forks of 360 grms, so it is not the lightest frame around. For a top class carbon frame it is at a very good price, as a starter race bike it is perfect, it’s lively and stiff, but with comfort built in. The forks are the very stylish full carbon HSC 4, which is light and perfectly matched to the geometry of the frame.
The geometry looks good for the four different sizes, small, medium, large and extra large, this covers many different people sizes and with different stem lengths and seat adjustments you should find a frame to suit you.
You ask specifically about the quality, well I don’t think you need to worry about the quality as Look know what they are doing when it comes to manufacturing to the best of their ability. Have a look at the joints of the tubes, they are seamless and smooth, the finish of the frame is also flawless, smooth and you would be hard pushed to find any problems with the quality.
I’ve seen many bargains for complete bike with either Shimano 105 or Ultegra, this could be the best and cheapest way to get a very nice bike that is, for sure, good enough to race on. Look have sponsored professional teams and through the feed back that they receive from the riders, they design all the frames, so you would be riding a frame with he in-put of some of the best riders in the world.
If you are considering buying a Look 555, then I can’t see why not, I don’t think you would be disappointed.
