The ANZA VFX Carbon Bike from Costco
Ray has found a bargain and wants to know what we think. He likes the look of a bike from Costco, the NZA VFX Carbon Road Bike looks pretty good so we give it a good checking out and pass on our thoughts
Question: I am considering the purchase of an nza VFX 26″ Carbon Fiber Road Bike from Costco.com. It appears to be a great summer deal discounted at $650.00
What do you think? Please give me some guidance if at all possible.
Thanks,
Ray.
Hi Ray,
The bike looks good, especially at that price!
The frame has Alloy main tubes with a carbon rear end, seat and chain stays and carbon forks. The equipment is Shimano Soria and 2200, brakes, pedals, front and rear gears are all 2200 as is the triple chain set which should make any climb easy and the shifters are Soria so have light action for easy changing. Alloy wheels with 20 and 24 spokes front and rear should be comfortable and fast, alloy handle bars and stem and a saddle with titanium rails keeps the weight of the bike down to 20 pounds, so not bad specifications.

The equipment is good and the frame appears to be very good, but there are different qualities of Alloy and carbon and Costco do not say anything about which alloy or carbon that is used in this frames manufacture. A frame of this kind should cost around 1,000 dollars on its own, so as a complete bike it’s at a brilliant price. How and what materials used to manufacture the frame we don’t know, but if you are happy with it then get that bargain.
