What Do we Know About the Motobecane Immortal Force

Rich McCarthy has found the Motobecane Immortal Force road bike to his liking and wants to know what we think. Will it take his weight and are there any problems with the seat clamp? He also wants to read some reviews, so we did a bit of digging to find out what we could

Question: I’m looking at a Motobecane Immortal Force thru BikesDirect.
I’m 6′ and around 205#

Will this bike take my weight and leg strength.

I’ve also heard some problems with the internal seat clamps.
Anyone tested this bike yet?

Hi Rich,
We have had a good look at the Motobecane Immortal Force and it has good specifications, Shimano Ultegra group set and then some good equipment from Cane Creek and Ritchey, the only things I would change would be the saddle for one that I am used to and the tires when they were needed as the Kenda tires are not bad, but could be better. Overall this is a good bike at a very good price.

As to your weight and strength I wouldn’t worry about it, the strength out put of a top rider is phenomenal and I’m sure that they have had the frame and bike tested to its fullest. If you are worried about your weight then you have two options, the first is to loose some weight, and we all wish we could. The second option is to e-mail the manufacturer and ask them if they have any weight restriction.

As to the internal seat clamp, I don’t think the Motobecane Immortal Force has an internal seat clamp; well not the one I’m looking at, it seems to be a normal external clamp, nothing strange.

We have not had the opportunity to test one, but if you look for Roadie Magazine and Bicycle Magazine, then on the net have a read of Road Bike Review, mtbr.com and there has been many people who have bought them and written to the forums on the net, check out bikeforums, forums on bike reviews, answers on yahoo, cycling forums and triangle cycling. You could always look at our last article on Motobecane here on Bike Cycling Reviews.

All the Motobecane bikes seem to be well built and very keenly priced; I wouldn’t worry about buying one as it sounds like the company will look after you as a prized customer. As we usually say about a bike we like; go for it Rich!
