Marlene’s Classic Murray Bikes

Marlene Smith has got three Classic Murray bikes and she wants to know how much they would be worth, maybe she wants to sell them, we hope she just wants to know how much they are worth, we think they are worth more than money to Marlene and she should keep hold of them.

Question: I have a 1982 aluminum 12 speed citation superlite Murray bike and wonder how much it is worth? Also 1979 Murray bike with band brakes 10 speed. Also a 1978 Murray banana seat bike.

That’s some collection of classic bikes you’ve got there, I’ve no idea what they would be worth. My question to you would be why would you want to sell them? Murray is a classic American bike, but when they sold new they were in the region of $250 to $400, depending on the tubing used. The good news for you is that they have not dropped in value much over the years, so you could expect to get nearly as much as when they were new.

If you have decided to sell them maybe try e-bay, there are some other Murray bikes on there, so compare them to yours and that should give you an idea of the current worth of your bikes and if you really want to, then sell them there.
