Giro Atmos or Catlike Whisper?
Ricardo Hernandez wants more information on the two helmets of his choice, the Atmos helmet from Giro and the Whisper from Catlike. We had a look at the Whisper a while back, so we will be able to compare it easily with the Atmos
Question: I would like to know which bike helmet do you recommend me, choosing between Giro Atmos and Catlike Whisper………and which are the differences.
Thank you in advance.
Ricardo Hernandez.
Hi Ricardo,
These are two really good helmets you’ve chosen, the Catlike Whisper is used by many professionals and top amateurs and is one of the most comfortable helmets on the market. The Atmos is very light and strong giving great protection as well as good styling and design.
The Catlike Whisper Helmet
The Whisper comes in thirteen different color styles with three MTB versions with detachable visors. The honeycomb design that caught your eye is a 39 hole air intake system for great ventilation and a dual cooling technology. On the safety front it has CES technology which is crash energy splitter and has adjustable rear retention and a inner pin rear retention receiver, the Whisper meets the European safety standard EN 1078, depending on where you live you have to check out if this meets your countries requirements. In America the Whisper does not meet CPSC standards, but U.S. Cycling has added the European helmet standard to its approved list.
It’s very light at 230g for the S/M size version and super compact design. There are plain and multi colors available as well as the special designs, the Euskaltel, Valencia and a World Champions version. The Catlike Whisper has a very nice fit and is cool, in its looks and with all those ventilation holes all round the top and back.

The Giro Atmos Helmet
The Atmos has 26 vents and has carbon inserts for strength and lightness in the roll cage; it weighs in at 240g. It has lightweight adjustable straps for safety and comfort along with Giro’s Roc Loc 4 head cradle keeps everything comfortable and stops any movement of the helmet on the head.
The Atmos has lots of vents at the back with a high cut up at the sides, lots of comfort and ventilation with protection and style. Giro was one of the first hard shell helmets to be seen in the European peleton, so they have the experience to make top class helmets.

Our Choice?
The Whisper has more ventilation ports and its lighter, so I guess we have to go for the helmet from Catlike. Apart from those two reasons we can’t separate these two helmets. The design of the Giro is a shade more stylish, but ventilation and weight are more important. Have the Whisper.
