Here at Bike Cycling Reviews we like to look at something different every now and again, the other day we were looking at the wide selection of bikes from Giant, when we noticed their Lifestyle section and in the Mode department, that’s when we spotted the Stiletto and the Dub. Love them or hate them, LowRiders are defiantly different!
Lowriders have been around for quite some time now, but when one of the biggest, if not THE biggest bike manufacturer in the world brings one onto the market then you know they have been accepted in the mainstream bike world and not looked on as something weird and odd for beach bums down in San Francisco.
BIG Chopper
This bike is a full blown chopper, its not for the shy at heart, this bike is for the Bold and the Brave, its showy and full of class from one end to the other and that’s quite a long way, this bike is a stretch limo of a bike and I’m sure will take some handling on tight corners, but who cares if you look this cool? As long as you don’t fall off!

The Technology
OK so it’s cool, we know that, but what about the technical details? Lets start with the frame; it’s made of high tensile steel, starting high at the handle bars and sloping to the back wheel in a beautiful drop like a wave from a Californian surfers dreams.
It’s strong and with all that length it will take a lot of bumps out of the road for a comfortable ride or pose! The forks have a long head-set arrangement and an oversize CroMo triple clamp and a nice angle of lay-back in very shiny chrome finish and toped off with straight bars, on the bars you have the SRAM MRX 7 speed shifter and the levers for the linear pull brakes.
Moving further down we come to the aluminum cranks with a 44 tooth chain ring, which is perfect for this style of bike and gearing, as we now go down to the saddle its more a boomerang shape than banana, but it sits perfectly on top of the big fender over the back wheel.
Talking of fenders there is a beautiful long chain guard, to protect your Hawaiian short, with a chain tensioner under it to take up the strain of that long chain.

Now to the back end of the bike, Shimano Altus rear gear derailleur is more than up to the job of the 7 speed sprockets on the double walled aluminum rear wheel, which is a 24 inch wheel toped off with a 3 inch tire, the front is a smaller 20 inch diameter wheel, but with the same 3 inch tire.
The nice touch with the front wheel is the radial designed spokes; this just adds a little bit more style to a very stylish machine. The only thing I’ve missed is the prop stand; this makes it a lot easier to park next to the beach!
The Whole Thing
![]() The Dub |
To sum this bike up I would say its more of a style statement than a bike, as Giant say it’s a Lifestyle and what a nice life that would be to ride around on this bike. The Stiletto only comes in one size, but the good news is that there is a smaller brother, the Dub, just as much style, just as much quality, but a little smaller.
What Do We Think? 7/10. 10/10 for style!!

need parts I have a broken Shimano Altus rear gear derailleur. Where can I get this part from ? I live in New York City. Please help
I have an 041/2 red one. I cut the junk, very uncomfortable, plastic seat off of the steel bracket. Then I notched a heavy duty seat post with a 1 3/4 hole saw, welded it on the remaing seat bracket with a 1/2 inch round bar strut. Now I can use any seat I want. It is the most comfortable, fastest and best handling bike I have ever owned. For pictures EMAIL bazookocircus@hotmail.com
