Can Campagnolo fit Shimano?
Rocko has a Shimano wheel and wants to know if he can fit a Campagnolo cassette? We don’t think this is possible and we explain why
Question: hi,
i was wondering how and what to do if i have a wheel that only fits shimano cassettes, but i have a campagnolo cassette?
chrs,
rocko
Hi Rocko,
The splines on the inside of the cassette sprockets are completely different between Shimano and Campagnolo, one can not fit the other and that’s the end of it. Mavic used to have a system that you could use special spacers so you could fit one or the other, but that only worked with Mavic and wouldn’t help you.
Basically there is nothing you can do except try and swap your Campagnolo cassette for a Shimano cassette, or swap the wheel for a Campagnolo cassette fitting wheel. You don’t say if it is 9 or 10 speed or if you have Campagnolo or Shimano equipment on your bike? You can’t go mixing these anyway as they wont work together. 10 speed will just about work in most cases. Don’t mix and match, it’s not worth it.
