New Bearings for Mavic Ksyrium Wheels

Stewart Barrie has a pair of Mavic Ksyrium SL wheels that need new bearings; he wants advice on how to do it. Not a job you should attempt on your own, that’s our advice!

Question: I want to change the bearings on my Mavic Ksyrium SL wheels, but can’t figure out how to get the old ones out.

The bearings on the Mavic wheels usually last a long time; I’m surprised they need changing.

This is not a job you should do yourself as the bearings are pressed in by a very large and strong machine, so this makes it very difficult for you to remove them. Find a Mavic specialist to do this. He will either be able to do it himself, if he has the equipment. Other wise he will have to send them to a Mavic service centre of which there are 13 through out the world, these service centre’s can do any work needed, even if the wheels are not still under guarantee.
